Model 70 Pneumatic Subminiature Regulator from Rotork Fairchild

Model 70 Pneumatic Subminiature Regulator from Rotork FairchildRotork Fairchild Model 70 precision pressure regulator controls a pressure signal for pneumatic instrumentation applications. This miniature regulator is ideally suited for applications with limited space. In addition, its brass bonnet and valve body makes the M70 an excellent choice for use in sensitive applications.

Operating Principles
When the setpoint is reached, the upward force of the output pressure that acts on the bottom of the Diaphragm balances with the
downward force that acts on the top of the Diaphragm. If the output pressure rises above the setpoint, the force that acts on the
bottom of the Diaphragm moves the Diaphragm Assembly upward to close the Supply Valve and open the Relief Valve. Excess output pressure exhausts through the Vents in the unit until it reaches the setpoint. The Vibration Damper dampens the throttling action of the Valve.

Features

Model 70 Pneumatic Subminiature Regulator Features

  •  Control sensitivity of 2.5" water column and a supply pressure effect of less than 1% to deliver consistent and reliable precision accuracy to maintain your desired set point regardless of supply pressure changes or conditions
  • Five set point pressure ranges from 0-5 psi, 0-3.5 BAR, 0-35 kPa up to 2-100 psi, 0.1-7 BAR, 15-700 kPa
  • Compact size allows installation in restrictive spaces
  • Brass and zinc plated steel construction permits use in corrosive or difficult environments
  • Vibration damper provides low noise operation
  • Repeatability within 0.06 psig dead ended - facilitates highly accurate setpoint control
  • 70220, 70230, 70240, 70250

Model 70 Pneumatic Subminiature Regulator Q & A

+ What is the maximum supply (inlet) pressure for the Model 70?
The Model 70 supports a maximum supply pressure of 250 psig (≈17 BAR).
+What is the minimum supply pressure for the Model 70?
The unit can operate down to 50 psig (≈3.5 BAR) supply in certain variants.
+What set-point (output) pressure ranges are available?
The Model 70 offers multiple output ranges — typically from 0-5 psig up to 2-100 psig (approx. 0-0.35 BAR up to 0.1-7 BAR).
+What is the flow capacity of this regulator?
One typical variant provides about 2.5 SCFM (≈4.25 m3/hr) when supplied with 100 psig and set to 30 psig.
+ What is the sensitivity of the Model 70?

The sensitivity is approximately 2.5″ water column (~0.009 BAR) for set point control.
