Model 66 Pneumatic Stainless-Steel Regulator from Rotork Fairchild

Model 66 Pneumatic Stainless-Steel Regulator from Rotork FairchildRotork Fairchild Model 66 is a stainless steel pressure regulator for high performance applications with corrosive environments and/or high temperatures. The Model 66 Stainless steel housing and internals, along with its fluorocarbon elastomers are compatible with a wide range of corrosive materials and difficult operating environments.

Operating Principles
When you adjust the Range Screw to a specific setpoint, the Range Spring exerts a downward force against the top of the Control Diaphragm. This downward force opens the Supply Valve. Output pressure flows through the Outlet Port and the Aspirator Tube to the Control Chamber where it creates an upward force on the bottom of the Control Diaphragm.

When the setpoint is reached, the force of the Range Spring that acts on the top of the Control Diaphragm balances with the force
of output pressure that acts on the bottom of the Control Diaphragm and closes the Supply Valve.

When the output pressure increases above the setpoint, the Diaphragm Assembly moves upward to close the Supply Valve and open the Exhaust Valve. Output pressure exhausts through the Vent on the side of the unit until it reaches the setpoint.

Model 66 Pneumatic Stainless-Steel Regulator Q & A

+ What is the maximum supply (inlet) pressure for the Model 66?
The Model 66 supports a maximum supply pressure of 500 psi (≈35 bar).
+What flow capacity does the regulator deliver?
Under a 100 psi supply and 20 psi set-point, the Model 66 provides approximately 17 SCFM (≈28.9 m3/hr).
+What is the exhaust/bleed capacity of the regulator?
When downstream pressure is about 5 psi above a 20 psi set-point, the exhaust capacity is about 1 SCFM (≈1.7 m3/hr).
+What is its sensitivity or responsiveness?
The Model 66 has a sensitivity of 1″ water column.
+ What set-point (output) pressure ranges are available?

There are multiple set-point output ranges offered, typically up to 2-150 psi (≈0.15-10 bar).
