Reliable Valves for Critical Systems in Cold Temperatures
Emerson low-temperature solenoid and air-operated valves operate reliably even in extreme cold conditions. Carefully selected materials and specialized design combat shrinkage, dormancy, and related issues.
Emerson delivers the most widely tested, certified parts, designed to operate in temperatures as low as -40 to -60°C (-40 to -76°F). Low temperature solenoid valves are CSA certified, UL listed, FM approved and are designed with the required protection modes and global approvals for use in safe areas and hazardous locations with low temperatures.
High Flow Solenoid Valves
The 362/562 series provides optimal performance in frigid conditions. Careful material selection and in-depth testing ensures that the elastomers maintain flexibility and resist shrinkage typically caused by low temperatures. The highly engineered design of the 381 and 327 series makes the operation efficient in temperatures as low as -60°C (-76°F). The material selected for the design can perform in extremely harsh and corrosive environments, typically found in offshore and near-shore oil platforms.
Hydramotor? Actuator
Reliable main line gas controls are crucial for operations safety. In low-temperature environments, you need a dependable hydramotor actuator. Our standard low-temperature solutions handle valve and actuator operating conditions down to -40°C (-40°F). We also have valve constructions available that provide reliable performance at ambient temperatures as low as -50°C (-58°F).
Gas Shutoff Valves
Safety is critical in hazardous conditions. Our low-temperature gas shutoff valves go through extensive testing to ensure that this key component in the critical infrastructure can be used when needed. We are part of the UL Client Data Program and develop products that represent the industry’s most widely tested and certified offerings for low ambient temperatures. Our low-temperature product line complies with official requirements for valves used in safety shutoff and hazardous applications.
Peak & Hold Valves
On-off control of fuel gas must be reliable in commercial and industrial environments, even in low-temperature environments. Our Peak & Hold solenoid valve designs can operate in ambient temperatures as low as -40°C (-40°F).
Air-Operated Valves
Air operated valves work in harsh environments controlling steam and aggressive fluid flow. Operating in temperatures as low as -25°C (-13°F).
Accessories
Accessories including the quick exhaust shuttle valve and explosion-proof junction box have low-temperature designs that make them ideal for outdoor installations in hazardous sites.
They are designed for harsh conditions with temperatures as low as -40°C (-40°F) and for operation in corrosive environments.
